The Midge brings impressive commotion to the water through a violent head shake manoeuvre that big game fish can't resist! This trolling lure is the master of rough weather conditions, with the large cup face creating additional drag to hold the lure in position. The chunky profile of the Midge provides excellent stability, alleviating concerns of blowouts and tangling. Although a genuine all-purpose lure, the Midge performs best on the short rigger and short corner. It has seen epic results on many offshore species including marlin, tuna and mahi mahi.
The Midge in Flying Fish is available in sizes Small 8.5", Medium 10.5" and Large 12.5".

When choosing your lure it is important to consider what class of tackle you will be fishing. Generally, the lighter the tackle, the smaller the lures you will want to run in your spread.

Medium Tackle
Heavy Tackle
Note: This is a guide only and you may choose to fish with lighter or heavier tackle depending on your target species.
Line class: The rated strength of your fishing line. For example, 15lb line will break when 15lbs of pressure is applied through a length of line.
Leader: Length of monofilament line that connects your main fishing line to the lure.

HARD HEAD
A tougher option, for strength and longevity
Preferred by many game fishing ‘traditionalists’, the theory with hard head lures is that attacking game fish will more easily slide down the hard shiny surface of the lure, onto the skirts and over the hook. It could also be argued that hard heads are more durable and less prone to being scratched or cut by toothy pelagics like wahoo, mackeral and dogtooth tuna, maintaining their clear finish for longer.
